Senior Application Engineer
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the technical aspects of the sales and applications support process for customers whose business involves the design of signal processing algorithms and the implementation of those algorithms on digital hardware.
This includes:
1. Provide in-depth technical guidance to customers who are seeking to apply our products within their organization. The Application Engineer assists the Account Manager by first understanding and synthesizing customer requirements, and then by explaining the features and demonstrating the capabilities of our products specific to their needs, and how they fit within their workflow.
2. Preparing and delivering product presentations to customers and prospects. These are delivered during customer meetings and during marketing seminars where large audiences exist. These product-centric sessions include our software demonstrations and associated PowerPoint slide presentations.
3. Developing demonstration programs, application examples, and simulation models. These are generally used as support for customer engagements or to make clear a solution relative to an application support assignment. These demonstrations may include the use of products that allow for automatic code generation targeted at FPGAs or other embedded systems.
4. Analyzing users' problems to determine and implement the best computational approach. Occasionally, customers who are preparing to acquire software require guidance on how to use evaluation products. This requires assisting customers with the use of our products to solve specific problems. Strong preference is placed on knowledge and skills in areas such as embedded systems development, HDL coding and verification, MATLAB programming, digital signal processing, communications systems, radar processing, etc.
5. Working with our development and technical marketing organisation to help prioritise the development of new features in our products, based on experience gained with customers applying the software tools to their applications and within their design processes.


Required Qualifications
Master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Signal Processing and/or Communications algorithms
Ability to perform computational analysis, modeling, and simulation tasks.
Knowledge of FPGA design flows
Proficiency in the delivery of presentations and excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese
Strong English (verbal & written) skill
