I apologize for the delay in responding to this thread.
In Q1, Philips was overwhelmed by a dramatic increase in demand as
many new designs went to production simultaneously. Even though we
were able to increase our chip production signifiCANtly, we still
were unable to keep up with the huge surge in demand.
We have increased production even further and are in the process of
getting ahead of the demand. By June, we should be completely
caught up and leadtimes should return to the 4-6 week range.
You should continue to expedite orders with your local
distributors. We are continually pulling in LPC2000 orders, so your
local contacts may be able to get you parts sooner than the original
confirmation date.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delays. It is a
testament to the success and acceptance of the LPC2000 family in the
marketplace that we have seen such an increase in demand. This
forum is undoubtedly an important factor in that success.
We believe that we have enough die and assembly production capacity
being put into place to keep leadtimes short and to keep our
distributors' shelves stocked with the most popular parts in the
future.
