This application report shows how to use the MSP430 to bridge data from an I2C™ bus to the Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) bus described in the High-Definition Media Interface (HDMI) specification 1.3. For this CEC application example, the MSP430 resides within the television. The scope of this application requires the MSP430 to handle the physical layer and data link layer (medium access control) responsibilities.
